Over Six Decades of Excellence
Ika Grammar School, Boji-Boji Owa, Delta State, Nigeria, was founded in the year 1960 as a non-co-education secondary school by some Anglican Missionaries in conjunction with some eleven Ika clan heads. The mission of the founding fathers was to provide secondary education to the people of Ika, its environs and indeed Nigeria to meet the needed middle level manpower in truth and excellence. Its pioneer principal was Mr. C.G.I. Eneli of blessed memory.
The school was later taken over by the Government. For many years, the school was under the control of the government. This school was handed back to the original owner, Diocese of Ika (Anglican Communion) on the 27th of October, 2011 by the Delta State Government under the governorship of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The Rt. Rev. Godfrey I. Ekpenisi who is the current Bishop of the Diocese of Ika is now the Proprietor of the school. He is a strong visionary leader, an erudite scholar, project developer and a rare academia who is highly committed to the development of this school.
